The Lake County Corn Dogs fell against the Windy City Baseball Club 14-10 on Tuesday after a 13-run bottom of the third proved to be insurmountable, regardless of some late-game heroics.

Check out the box score from the game and updated season stats.

Eric Santaguida started on the mound for the Corn Dogs, entering the game with a perfect 0.0 ERA. Windy City gathered eight hits off Santaguida, scoring 10 runs, all of which were earned.

The Corn Dogs struck first, scoring one run in the top of the first. Tyler Schultz singled, scoring Robert Tate Jr., both of whom finished with impressive lines on the day.

While going down 13-1 after the bottom of the third inning, the Corn Dogs fought until the very end.

The Corn Dogs scratched across three runs in the top of the fourth, one coming off a huge triple by Christian Holmes, his first of the season. They scored one run in both the top of the sixth and seventh inning as well.

With a 14-6 deficit heading into the top of the eighth, the Corn Dogs searched for a rally. With some help from Tate Jr., Luke Diekmann, Colin Horneman and Schultz, the Corn Dogs posted four runs in the top of the eighth, bringing the game closer, but ultimately fell short, losing the game 14-10.

The Corn Dogs look to bounce back when they travel back home to Legacy Fields on Thursday, June 20 in a matchup against the New Lenox Pumas at 7 p.m. The Corn Dogs play again at home Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
