The Corn Dogs wasted no time scoring against the Crestwood Panthers Wednesday. In the bottom of the first inning, an RBI-double from Bret Matthys and a single from Roman Kuntz brought in two runs and set the table for the rest of the game.

In the top of the third, Nico Pena’s single down the first base line gave Crestwood their first run. Starter Rex Stills had no more problems for the next two innings before calling it a day.

In the fifth inning, the Corn Dogs loaded up the bases with no outs, and capitalized with a pair of sacrifice flies from Matthys and Kuntz to make it a three-run game.

The Panthers would only score one more run before Mark Tor and Doug Loden shut it down for the rest of the night.

Colin Small was the Macron Player of the Game, going 3-3 with three runs, three stolen bases  and making some great plays at second base.

Corn Dogs’ 4-2 win over Crestwood moves them to 12-5 and three games in first place over the Southland Vikings. The Corn Dogs play the Oilmen in Whiting on Thursday and also Friday at home.
