In the fourth, Bret Matthys lined a hit into the gap and drove in Donovan Noble to get the scoring started for the game. The Corn Dogs would tack on another run in the sixth inning.

Southland finally broke through with an RBI-single from Chris McDevitt, cutting the lead to 2-1. Southland leap-frogged the Corn Dogs in the seventh, scoring three runs on four hits. Blaze Cano had the big hit to put the Vikings up 4-2.

Trailing late in the game, the Corn Dogs scored on a wild pitch, but left the tying run on the bases, and that ending their winning streak at eight games.

The Corn Dogs will be in Whiting on Thursday to play the NWI Oilmen, a team they swept in three games at home. Then the Corn Dogs will get another chance against Southland on Friday on their home field in Crown Point. First pitch is 7 p.m.
