Cal Curiel is a versatile infielder who graduated from Crown Point High School in 2021. He played his first collegiate season with Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. According to MaxPreps, Curiel batted a slash line of .324/.420/.378 (average, on-base, and slugging).

He drove in 13 runs and scored 23 times during his senior year for the Bulldogs. Curiel was selected to the 2021 North-South Indiana All-Star game.
