Lake County Corn Dogs Name Broadcast Team, Public Address Announcer

The Lake County Corn Dogs are pleased to announce their new broadcast team and public address announcer for the upcoming Northern League season.

Noel Fary is back in the broadcast booth for the Corn Dogs, moving from color commentary to play-by-play duties. Joining him is Josh Lipowski as the color man, and Rick Hutchinson is the Corn Dogs’ public address announcer.

The Corn Dogs’ season gets going with a three-game home series versus the NWI Oilmen starting Thursday, May 25 at Legacy Fields in Crown Point, Indiana. First pitch is 7 p.m.

Introducing the Corn Dogs’ New Broadcast Duo

As a broadcast intern during the Corn Dogs’ championship-winning inaugural season in 2022, Fary worked alongside play-by-play announcer Andrew Mild, who graduated Butler University this year and moved on to a job as lead broadcaster for Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, a Class A Major Independent League franchise with deep ties to Major League Baseball.

Fary currently attends Indiana University Bloomington where he majors in Sports Media and Broadcast Journalism. At IU, Noel has announced numerous sports, including soccer, women’s basketball and baseball. He is a member of the WIUX Radio sports broadcasting team, and also announces games on Big Ten Plus. He is a resident of Hammond and a 2020 graduate of Munster High School where he was president of the speech and debate club.

Lipowski spent last season broadcasting for the Northern League’s Crestwood Panthers, and also worked for the Gary Southshore Railcats during the 2021 season. He is a 2022 graduate of Liberty University, earning a degree in Digital Media and Sports Journalism. While at Liberty, he served two and a half years as sports director of the student radio station 90.9 The Light, and was a broadcaster for Liberty’s LFSN radio station. He has also done play by play work for Region Sports Network.

Hutchinson, of Crown Point, is an experienced baseball and football play-by-play announcer who will bring his unique brand of gameday entertainment to the home game crowd. He is a 1983 graduate of the School of Communications at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, earning a degree in Radio-Television degree and a double minor in Journalism and Marketing.

Corn Dogs Add Broadcast Partners for 2023 Season

The Corn Dogs have partnered this season with The Rewind Sports: 60, a streaming service that will feature Corn Dogs home games on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV and Facebook live apps.

Jerry Riles, a long-time Chicago television and radio sports programming host, producer and field reporter, is the founder and executive producer of The Rewind Sports: 60. Riles will bring his cameras and crew to Legacy Fields to cover the baseball action on the field — and all the fun in the stands.

Riles’ multimedia platform currently hosts The Bill Cartwright Show (of Chicago Bulls fame) and The Garry Meier Show featuring the Chicago talk radio pioneer, among other sports, news and entertainment programming.

By expanding viewership of its games, the Corn Dogs are creating fresh opportunities for regional businesses and organizations to deliver their messaging to new audiences through advertising promotions and team sponsorships.

The Corn Dogs finished in first place in 2022 and won the Northern League Championship, The Corn Dogs are set to defend their title — and the 2023 schedule is now out.
